Ghosts of Gordonvale 2022
The Mulgrave Shire Historical Society is once again hosting Ghosts of Gordonvale on Sunday 28th August 2022 commencing at the earlier time of 2:45pm for 3:00 pm start. Please note this is a non- smoking event.
The presentation will occur on the banks of O’Leary’s Creek behind the monumental section of Gordonvale Cemetery. Attendees are asked to provide their own seating and water if needed.
The stories being told are of seven people buried in Gordonvale cemetery. The information presented is historical and there is no presumption of ghostly presence. Our presenters will be Mulgrave Shire Historical Society members dressed as their character. Come and enjoy a pleasant afternoon learning more about our local history told through the lives of our early pioneers.
No bookings are required for this event, but we do ask if those attending, could please arrive 15 minutes earlier to allow for enough time to walk up the first driveway at the cemetery to the presentation area and set up your chairs. Please park your car on the grassed area on the other side of the road in front of the cemetery. Disabled persons or those who have difficulty walking can drive down the second entrance at the cemetery and park near the trees. There will be parking marshals there to assist.
The cost to attend is $5/head and payment can be made at the first entrance into the cemetery as well as at the back boundary of the cemetery near the presentation area. Booklets with the scripts of the seven ghosts being portrayed will be for sale for $5 each. The graves of the ghosts will be marked with coloured tape so attendees can visit them once the performance is over.
